"The next story is Negeri Sembilan's most famous legend — 'The Legend of the Buffalo Horns'! Long ago, an enemy brought a giant buffalo to issue a challenge, but the Minangkabau side had only a small calf. The clever little hero Catiak Balimo smeared honey on the calf's horns and fed it sour sugarcane to lick — the calf, itchy and furious, ducked its head and 'BAM!' gored the big buffalo's belly — victory! 🎉 From then on, the Minangkabau people placed buffalo horns on their roofs — and that is the origin of the Rumah Bagonjong, the buffalo-horn roof! After the dance later, the children will arrange their plates into the shape of buffalo horns — a tribute to this legend!"
